Taylor Swift Inspired Elopement Locations
6 dreamy elopement destinations that feel just like her lyrics
Eloping like a true Swiftie? These Taylor Swift inspired elopement locations will help you make it happen.
Hey, I’m Nico – an award-winning photographer who plans & captures intentional elopements all over Europe. More about me.
As you know, a love story that feels like a Taylor Swift song might, to say the least, not always be a good thing. Still, eloping in a place inspired by one? Absolutely is.
Which means this is definitely not your average list of elopement wedding destinations. From windswept beaches and cobblestone streets to stunning skylines, quiet lakes and forest paths — every location is handpicked to capture the soft nostalgia and unique stories from Taylor’s lyrics.
And within this post, there are well over 20 Taylor references. Some are obvious, some a bit more hidden. Can you find them all?
Also, before we start, a quick shoutout to my dear friend Saskia, who was a huge help in narrowing down the actual locations. ChatGPT would be afraid of you.
So, without further ado, here are six Taylor Swift inspired elopement locations that will make your day feel equally cinematic and enchanted.

Lake District, England
Inspired by: The Lakes
If “where all the poets went to die” somehow sounds like a fun place to be for you – this one is all yours.
But to be fair, the Lake District in England does look super pretty and of course has that moody, poetic and melancholy feel to it we all love.
You could row across a quiet lake through an early morning’s mist, say your vows beneath mossy trees and warm up in a cozy stone cottage. And if a bit of rain makes you feel alive and some stillness is what you’re looking for, there’s no better place.
Bring your muse, journal and some tissues, because it actually is the perfect place to cry. But maybe this time, for all the right reasons.
New York City, USA
Inspired by: Welcome to New York, Cornelia Street, Coney Island
Depending on your punctuality, you might actually appreciate something that has been waiting for you. Eloping in New York is absolutely electric and you simply won’t find the same energy anywhere else. From breathtaking rooftop views to a glowing skyline and the soft secrecy of Central Park at night. No city quite like this one, right? And when that synthesizer intro hits as your plane touches down, my word. You get it, I know.
Then maybe outside the airport you’ll get a cab, casually say where you rent a place and elope in the quiet kind of magic of West Village streets instead, who knows. Cornelia Street included, obviously.
And if you’re also one of those “hey babe, let’s break up for a minute so this song hits right” people just so you can watch a sad sunset on a bench in Coney Island – I’m sure we can make that happen, too.

New England (Rhode Island), USA
Inspired by: The Last Great American Dynasty
For lovers of moody coastlines, beachy mansions and charming weddings — Rhode Island, or any other coastal place in New England really, might just be your best choice. It’s the perfect setting for an elopement that feels like a mysterious and slightly unhinged story.
Say your vows with salty hair on some Newport cliffs and dance through the halls of an old estate with a haunted past. (The latter might be a bit tricky to organize, to be fair — sorry.) Anyway. It’s gonna be a marvelous time, I’m sure.
Will this be the start of your own wild family legend as you ride up on the afternoon train? As long as you hear “maddest woman” and think “goals”, I’m sure of it. (By the way, all these references are becoming increasingly fun to write. I’m having a blast here.)

• Holland, Netherlands
• Stockholm Archipelago, Sweden
Paris, France
Inspired by: Paris, Begin Again (Video)
Ah, Paris, of course. A city well worth the hype, in my opinion. And the one to be in for candlelit dinners, kisses on hidden staircases and bike rides through cobblestone streets.
Eloping here feels like your very own blurry, pastel daydream. It’s also where you sip espresso in emotionally significant cafés. And yes, you can sit in the same one Taylor did – it’s called La Palette and it’s still open.
*Inhales* So if you’ve ever felt like all love ever does is break and burn, you’ll watch it begin again in that very café (or any other café, tbh) on a Wednesday (or any other day, tbh). As long as you’re actually taken by the view like you’re in Paris, of course. (Impressed by how many obvious Easter eggs can fit in a single paragraph? No? Dammit.)

Iceland / Scotland
Inspired by: Snow on the Beach
All song references aside – snow on a beach is actually a surreal thing to see. And yes, “weird but fuckin’ beautiful” describes it pretty well, too, though.
Can you see yourself wandering along snowy, wind-blown cliffs in Scotland? Or searching for some aurora borealis green on a black volcanic beach in Iceland? I bet you can. Now imagine snow coming down, no sound, the world appearing to stand still.
Planning your elopement around this kind of experience makes it feel like the whole universe slowed down and aligned just for you.
Almost every other forest, really
Inspired by: Folklore & Evermore
Get lost in some woodsy, cabin-in-the-forest-with-floors-creaking-under-your-step breakup energy. Without the actual breakup, please. I have bills to pay.
If your love story doesn’t quite fit the skylines, cliffs and mansions, this might be the better fit. Pack your cardigan, some boots and a wool blanket — we’re looking for the roads not taken.
An elopement in the woods is stunningly beautiful and actually what I chose for my own one, too. Exchanging your rings in some silent place where the air smells like rain and pine is simply tough to beat.
Time for you to have a day that feels like it’s pulled from a handwritten journal. At the end, you’ll cozy up in a cabin warmed by candlelight and catch your breath staring out an open window as the fog rolls through the trees. Sounds like a 10/10, doesn’t it?
