From scenic forests to breathtaking mountain peaks, this 2-day Elopement wedding in Madeira truly had it all.
Starting at a charming little house on the islands sunny south coast, we began the first day full of excitement, before exploring Madeira’s dramatic landscapes. Every moment was pure magic.
The ceremony took place in the heart of Madeira’s iconic Fanal Forest, one of the best Elopement locations in Madeira. The trees were covered in soft fog that made everything feel otherworldly.

Why Fanal Forest is the Perfect Wedding Photo Location in Madeira
The most unique and cinematic photo backdrop
Truth be told, Fanal Forest is not exactly off the beaten path in Madeira and a little more popular, but rightly so.
Setting foot in this forest feels like stepping into a fairy tale. On most days, especially in the morning or during the winter months, the trees are shrouded in mist, creating the most serene atmosphere you could ever imagine.
Fanal Forest is so unique and the perfect cinematic backdrop for stunning wedding photos in Madeira. While you might often share the place with other people, the entire area is very spacious, allowing you to easily get away from the crowds during the busy season if needed.
After the Fanal Forest Elopement ceremony we drove along the west coast and enjoyed a breathtaking sunset at another of my favorite places in Madeira.
And though this adventure ended at sunrise the next day rather than sunset, just like during this Pico do Arieiro Elopement above the clouds, the final stop of this unforgettable wedding was on top of one of Madeira’s most jaw-dropping peaks.
