LGBTQ+ Dolomites Elopement at Lago di Braies
Private ceremony at Lake Braies boathouse
From Texas heat to sunny Italy – Caitlyn & Sara planned their LGBTQ+ Dolomites Elopement a long way from home. We spent a day and a half exploring this stunningly beautiful place in the world and if there’s one thing that stuck with me, it’s how incredibly FUN it all was.
We met bright and early for their sunrise ceremony at Lago di Braies and rented out the boathouse to not be bothered by any other people there. It was a beautiful morning with perfect conditions and the prettiest light a photographer could ever hope for.
After driving along some gorgeous mountain passes and going on a hike to a secret lake, we already ended our first day in the afternoon, since there was more to come the next day.
Dreaming of your own Dolomites elopement?
Let’s make it become reality:
Sunset helicopter flight with multiple landings
There’s simply no better way to explore the Dolomites than by getting a private helicopter. And with multiple landings, we made the absolute most of it.
Months earlier, I had scouted all our possible landing options, checked the best times for light and weather and ultimately chose the two that fit their vision the best.
However, our original plan was to fly at sunrise, but low-hanging clouds prevented any possibility for us to start. Which was fine, since this can happen in the Dolomites quite often and we therefore had more than enough time to reschedule the entire thing for sunset instead.
And what a sunset it was! So, so epic and breathtaking. The two landings were amazing, the views were obviously incredible, and seeing the mountains covered in soft, purple light at sunset was unreal. The perfect end to two perfect days.
