Dog-friendly Hiking Elopement in Sweden
A full-day adventure elopement in Skuleskogen National Park
This hiking elopement in Sweden was a day I was looking forward to for a long, long time. Because from the very first time I spoke with Ole & Kati and we came up with their plan to elope in Skuleskogen National Park, I instantly knew this would be a perfect match and an incredible day. And what a day it was.
They brought their three cute dogs with them, too, which made the whole experience even more fun. First, we met at the entrance of the National Park and headed to a nearby beach for their legal ceremony. If you’re wondering how this works in Sweden, you can find out more in my Sweden Elopement Guide.
Afterwards, the adventurous part of our day began and we set off on an amazing full-day hike through the National Park.

Dog-friendly elopement locations in Europe
Sweden is hands down one of the absolute best locations if you’re eloping with dogs. The Swedish Allemansrätten (“Right to roam”) opens up the entire country to you and allows you to go (almost) anywhere. So there’s pretty much unlimited space for dogs to run, roam and explore.
On this very day, together with Ole & Katis three dogs (who thankfully came with unlimited stamina and energy), we hiked through mossy forests, across scenic mountains and along silent lakes.
As our halfway point, we stopped at Lake Tärnättvattnen to take a break and, most importantly, have their private vow ceremony.
Not gonna lie, we were all pretty exhausted at the end of the day. But if you’ve ever been on an amazing hike like this, you know how damn good it feels.
